It won't happen to me.
Driving to Brisbane last week, a long line of traffic was moving very slowly and orderly . The cause of the delay was a tractor, next thing a car at speed went around about 15 vehicles on a bend, a P Plater! Again on the way home a similar occurrence with a P Plater overtaking two vehicles on double white lines. I am not going to say that I did not drive in the same reckless irresponsible way when I was young, that would be a lie and I consider myself very lucky to have escaped any serious injury . There seems to be a belief when you are young that it is o.k to flaunt the road rules and also that accidents happen to others. Defensive driving courses definitely have an effect as does police presence and zero alcohol but the main issue when you are young and think you are invincible ( and it is much more difficult to change) is the mindset - it won't happen to me !!!!
